Humble beginnings
Black Hops Brewing started with 3 mates on a mission to make craft beer and share everything we learned along the way. In 2014 after discussing a concept over beer at the pub, we set off to make their first beer, the Eggnog Stout.
In 2016 we became the first Aussie brewery to launch via crowdfunding using the $17k raised to help build our HQ brewery in Burleigh Heads. In 2019 we became the first to close an Equity Crowdfunding round using the funds to build a 2nd site BHII.
In 2021 we were named #24 in the AFR Fast 100, growing revenues to just under $16m in 2021. We have grown to become one of Queensland's largest independent breweries with a team of over 90 people, with 4 taprooms and thousands of wholesale customers.
