About the report
Each year the top raises, fastest movers, biggest crowd pleasers and sector trends in Australian crowdsourced funding (CSF) are compiled in the annual CSF Yearbook as a record of industry performance.
The results are compiled using data gathered by Birchal, including its own proprietary data and publicly available information gathered online, with every effort made to ensure its accuracy.
Australian innovators and startups have had access to crowdsourced funding since 2018 when ASIC passed laws to allow licensed intermediaries to host offers, with records kept on industry results each year.
Since then, about 250 Australian SMEs have collectively raised over $218 million, from passionate customers and fans, across 128k+ investments.
The resilience of Australia’s CSF industry has been remarkable in 2022, with funding volumes slightly higher than 2021 against the backdrop of steep falls in funding volume across other parts of the financial system.
